The Ariston Ecogenus 24 Rffi Sys Ng - Dec 1999 combination boilers and water heaters use a rubber diaphragm to activate the domestic hot water by diverting the primary water circuit to the plate heat exchanger. This provides hot water to the taps or perhaps shower. One side in the diaphragm is subject to indirect heat via the hot water in the primary circuit flowing through the hydraulic set up. This design is common in combination boilers and other water heating appliances. In case a diaphragm has failed the boiler and won't switch easily between providing water to the hot taps and providing central heating. In this instance it'll need changing. Many heating engineers will recommend exchanging the whole hydraulic section assembly.
